Frontpage Feature in “my nude” and New Collodion Work

The kind people at stern.de featured one of my images on the front page for their monthly e-paper, called “spotlight”.

The March issue contains a special called “my nude” and it’s published once per year (every March).

There is also an interview and some insights in the dark room, documenting the “birth” of a wet plate collodion image (press play in the slideshow box presented to the right of the page) with new collodion work as well as some older wet plate images which I did last year.

The interview is in german language :) Enjoy.

Two of my submitted works made it through the judge selection of the Black and White Spider Awards competition and were nominated in the category “Nude” and “Still Life”…

I have attended the live event via web last night and it was like sitting in front of the TV watching the lottery *g*

Great work has been submitted overall and the nominees, as well as the winner get all my admiration and congratulation to their achievement.

I went yesterday to the gas station and had a quick look at the newsapaper stand while I was waiting for my tank to fill up. I saw the new issue of Stern View, best pics of the month and found the above shot published.

I felt pretty much excited because is one of my favorite shots I did with Madame Bink. Besides of that, the shot was also chosen as “Nude Image of the Day” at One Model Place.

Blog Update – XoverIP runs on WordPress 2.5

The WordPress Release Candidate 1 is out now and I decided to install it today. The installation/upgrade went very smooth and right now seems that everything works fine. During the next hours and days, I’ll do some heavy testings, so do not wonder if you see some strange things happening here :-))

Blog Updates – New Design and Core Files

Regular visitors of this blog have already noticed the new design.
A major update has been done to a lot of the core files and of some plug-ins have been adapted too.
My host moved some weeks ago to a new provider with new servers and software versions. This move had the effect that the blog functionality was a bit “disturbed”, such as the contact form, being my most important communication interface with my visitors.
Being “in the run” with all the reprogramming and customizing, I have decided to add some more functionality to the blog. Soon, a shopping cart will be implemented as well, so you can easily browse my fine art portfolio and buy whatever you like in a very comfortable way.
The most time consuming task was the adaption of the layout to look identical in different operating systems (Windows, Linux, Mac) and browser versions, such as IE 5,6,7 or Opera, Firefox and Safari for Mac. As you can imagine, the IE 5 & 6 were the winner in the category “troublemakers” :-) At least every problem was solved and I think that I have done a good job.
I also want to thank the guys and gals from Browsershots for their service, helping to test the page and sending screen shots from different operating systems and browser.

If you encounter some problems or odd things, please do not hesitate to report.
I’ll try to fix it as best as I can :-)

Photoblog Updates – Browse Category

With the help of GeoS, one of the Pixelpost team members, you are now able to watch all pictures within a category in one go, that means, if you choose ‘people & portrait’ you’ll see all the images within that category without being ‘disturbed’ by an abstract or nude. When the last picture in the category is reached, you’ll have the choice to choose another category by clicking the browse page again or go back to the front page by clicking “home”. The categories are shown on the left side of the “browse” page.

During the last few days I did some updates on the blog.

~~an event calendar with the ability to sync the events to your “iCal” compatible application~~
an amazon box with my suggestions. the box content will change regularly, so check back often :-) the links contain an amazon partner-ID, so every order over these links supports this site. many thanks for your support.
you are now able to edit your comments. the time frame you are allowed to edit is set to 15 mins after the first post. just in case you have misspelled something or want to add something to your post.
subscriptions are now redirected to Feedburner with the ability to subscribe to your email address, rss readers or embed a rss widget to your page :-)

I hope you’ll find these “enhancements” useful and if you discover some probs or bugs, please let me know.
