In Greek mythology, Muse referred to any one of the nine daughters of Mnemosyne and Zeus, each of whom presided over a different art or science. Muse in modern day terms refers to a guiding spirit or a source of inspiration.

The kind people at NUDE magazine have sent the latest issue to press and it will be available during the next days. I’m very pleased to announce that one of my muses, Candace Nirvana, is published in the summer/fall issue of Carrie Leigh’s NUDE magazine, having a special “MUSE Feature”.

She really deserves the designation of a poetic muse, as she adds the complementary to my ideas and visions, making them one of a kind visual poems.

As far as I am informed, the NUDE editors picked 3-4 pieces of my work with Candace, among many other outstanding images from her collaboration with other artists.

This event might be interesting for those who always wanted to know more about my photography, my style and workflow. I’ll be giving an insight in the artsy-fartsy world of VT as well as presenting some “old fashioned” printing techniques.

Also there will be presentations held by other 6 photographers, covering panorama, people/portrait, wedding, product and landscape/city photography.

The March issue contains a special called “my nude” and it’s published once per year (every March).

There is also an interview and some insights in the dark room, documenting the “birth” of a wet plate collodion image (press play in the slideshow box presented to the right of the page) with new collodion work as well as some older wet plate images which I did last year.

The interview is in german language :) Enjoy.

It is the dream of every photographer when renowned film manufacturer invite one to test their new products.

I am invited to test a brand new product release and the best is, that there is no restriction or a given roadmap for the test.
Just doing it my way, with my style and my visions with tons of film at no costs.

The test will be accompanied by a journalistic article and will be published worldwide.

I’m looking forward to the test and also to having a good session with 5 models at a very cool location. YAY!

I went yesterday to the gas station and had a quick look at the newsapaper stand while I was waiting for my tank to fill up. I saw the new issue of Stern View, best pics of the month and found the above shot published.

I felt pretty much excited because is one of my favorite shots I did with Madame Bink. Besides of that, the shot was also chosen as “Nude Image of the Day” at One Model Place.

Twelve Shots is a heartfelt compilation – a book that describes my unmasked passion, moments which are deeply personal and haunting. Within each of us are a kaleidoscopic variety of thoughts and feelings which I have attempted to convey through my art. It was not easy to restrict this book to only 12 pieces that encompass my span of emotions for this series. I labored over the sequence of images to include emotional texture and adapted processing to each individual image in hopes of making the series flow as a natural emotional unit. What you see before you is my soul presented in a way that can be felt by the viewer.

“Twelve Shots” is a gift to honor my friends. I had posted the initial book cover to my blog and received an unexpected amount of interest. The reaction from those who I don’t know has moved me and as such, I have decided to offer this book to the public.
