This is my personal review of Vernon Trent's book 'Twelve Shots'

"Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers" is a quote on the second page of Vernon's book 'Twelve Shots' Although there is an opening quote, this passage struck me more than the first. It is not because I am an overly religious man, but I can completely relate to the gift of unanswered prayers. Over the most recent years of my life I have come to believe that all is as it should be no matter what my personal situation. I have been blessed with the wisdom to know that although life is full of choices, the path we choose through our true intents leads us to where we need to be.

In so many ways Twelve Shots parallels this belief. I will explain this first from the vantage point of only knowing Vernon as a photographic artist. His book reveals a man whose poignant writings match the exquisite art that some may classify as photographic art, but the palpable tenderness and sensitivity moves many of the pieces in the book beyond the visual to the visceral. In so many ways Vernon places the viewer in a place we are all meant to be, yet often choose not to; peace and thoughtfulness. It is the quiet serenity of each of his images that places us in a state where we can truly hear who we are in honest moments, those we may hide from the outside world, yet know as truth.

As my friend who I affectionately refer to simply as 'VT' what lies before me as I turn the pages is the man I have come to know. The outer 'edge' that is apparent to those who don't know him well is balanced by the inner soul that comprises who he actually is. Twelve Shots is more than photography or writings, it is a window into both its creator and each of us.

Vernon your book of Twelve Shots is filled with layers of emotion. The words are so personal in your hand writing . The background with hidden sketches adds a whole new level of understand. Your simplicity is marvelous and says volumes. About Vernon Trent, I see a complex , artistic, and sensitive man. I see the wheels turning, I see the circle and the missing pieces that you find. It is all there and more.

Thank you for sharing a gift that was given to you.

Read the book....you will love it.

Twelve Shots -- the effect is amazing! Many layers of intensity, with much depth, will arouse in you such feelings of deep pleasure you most likely have never experienced before. Those who know will understand. Those who don't will have something to look forward to, time and time again. This book is essential bedtime reading for both women, and men!

The images, the poetry, the style, the hidden glyphs tell me that Vernon Trent is a Master, of the highest order. I feel honoured and privileged that he has shared himself with me and introduced me to High Erotic Art. He can now regard me as a loyal friend! Give this as a gift to the one you love the most. 5 stars.

I've finally got my hands on this exquisite work of art! This book is in fact an art piece in itself, from the time you grab this book until you flip the last page, it just breathes quality! The format is quite small and there are not that many pages, but its impact is nonetheless huge! There is so much mood packed into these 12 shots it should suffice for a lifetime! All photos are very different, but quality and mood bring them all together. Several of the shots are my absolute favourites of Vernon's work and its interesting to see which photos he's chosen, with such a limited number. Of course this tells a lot about the photographer. Vernon has successfully combined his photos with short poems, which many photographers wish they were able to do. Seriously, you will regret it if you don't get this book!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Hallo Vernon,
